I’m going to keep this report short, mainly because there is not much to say at this point. We just got back to basecamp from 4 days down valley resting and eating in the small village of Dingboche. It was great to recover a few thousand feet lower than basecamp after our second rotation up the mountain- lots of O2 down there! Now we are in a patience-heavy holding pattern waiting on a good weather window to go for the summit. Exciting times here but definitely hard to wait when your mind and body are ready. We must wait for the mountain to be ready to welcome us with decent weather to go for the top though.
So stay tuned… our summit could be in the next 7-10 days.
Namaste and thanks for reading.
Chris
Hello from your New York – Portillo friends.
I firmly believe that because of your respect for the mountains that the gods have rewarded you with great weather.
I know you can do it because you have the qualities of a Sherpa; who believe in being peaceful and honoring all people and accepting the suffering without complaint.
Stay safe Dav and enjoy every moment.
Chris,
I am reading your blog every day to follow your trip.
Our son Randyka Pudjoprawoto had met you in Portillo and took a picture with you in the summer of 2009 (Asian boy of 21 with close-cropped hair). He was very happy to be able to meet a famous skier like you, someone he has looked up to very much.
I wish you and Neal good luck in this amazing adventure to summit Everest.
Best wishes
Nancy Richie
